Founded in 1967, the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (RAiR) gives six visual artists a full year to focus entirely on studio work, with no teaching or exhibition obligations. Each artist receives a three-bedroom house with an attached studio, all utilities, a monthly living stipend, and a materials stipend, plus family supplements — one of the most generous no-strings grants in American art. Limited to studio-based visual artists.
